Dirty beaches
reckless heart
tossed in brown surf.

Splitting clouds
loneliness
love frittered away
with a careless abandon
into the dark
depths
dredged
dirty
water.

Seaweed tumbles
against my skin
It stinks
the ocean doesn’t lie
It rips me deeper
and deeper into the truth.

Truth – there’s hope
Lies – only death.
