I have a history of musicality, some of it great, most of it bad.  I used to sing, soprano in fact.  I was that good I got a gig, a solo segment within the collective of school choirs from the region performing at The Wellington Town Hall in New Zealand to a few hundred people.  Exciting much  I was a gangly teenager back then and since the only musical instrument I’d tackled was the recorder (and hated) I thought I just may have a future as a singer.  Any aspirations of making the big time was soon shattered in my audition for a more serious/hardcore choir to find my voice had broke!

So then came the instruments.

I play the drums mediocre, the guitar poorly, no wait really bad, and the piano – well the jury is still out on that one as I’m currently having lessons. I
believe with perserverance I just might get there. Not to be this awesome musician like the ones I will talk about here, but it will be another opportunity for me to explore my creative expression.  Now, I could be delusional, but time will tell.

I honestly would not survive without books and music in my life.  They have always been at the core of my being.  They influence and inspire me every day to do things in my life that I believe I would not have done without the wonder of words and the power of music.
